Is it possible for a man to be a - state trooper - country music singer - family man - all at the same time and be really good at all three? Yes, it is, if that man's name is Greg Duckworth.

Greg is one of 7 siblings who were raised by a guitar playing, singing single mother, in a small quiet town in Taylor County, West Virginia. Quiet that is, until mom would bring her guitar out on the back porch and start singing, and then it was time to make music. Homegrown, from the heart, pure and natural sibling harmonies, Greg Duckworth started singing with his family as soon as he could talk. Their neighbors would call out encouragement as they listened to the sweet sound of their voices. Yes, they were at it again. Greg and his family were making music and they were soon singing on stage and in church, just like his daughters do now.

It's always family first when talking with Greg Duckworth. A father of two girls, Greg beams with pride when talking about his daughters and his wife. His whole demeanor changes and you just know his girls have their dad wrapped around their finger. He gets quite animated and just glows as he talks about how musical they both are, a trait that runs deep in the Duckworth family. He makes sure to mention his oldest daughter's involvement with church and youth ministry and acting and how talented his younger daughter is too. Is talent hereditary? You could make a strong case that it is, based on Greg Duckworth and his family.

Then Greg spoke of his chosen profession of law enforcement and his long term commitment to maintaining law and order in his community. Greg told me he was inspired to pursue law enforcement when his brother, Jimmy Duckworth, was killed tragically at the age of 21. Greg and his family felt the investigation wasn't handled properly and that horrible experience was the main reason he chose to become a State Trooper. Greg has been a West Virginia State Trooper for 21 years and you can sense his deep pride and devotion to those he serves with and for, and his beloved state of West Virginia. He told me about his first days fresh out of the academy and being assigned to the coal fields as a young trooper, how quickly he had to learn and how intense it all was. The way he carries himself and his sincere manner of speaking, Greg Duckworth makes you feel very safe while in his presence. You know from his words that he's willing to put his life on the line every day to make sure the rest of us are safe from harm. There's no doubt he means it.

Greg's whole demeanor changes when he talks about his career as a singer and entertainer, being one third of the fast rising country music group, Taylor Made, along with his brother Brian Duckworth and his sister, Wendy Williams. Greg is very proud of how he and his siblings promote the state of West Virginia and their region of the country with the music of Taylor Made. Greg expressed lots of excitement about their recent radio promotional tour and all the radio stations around the country now playing their music and requesting interviews. He's also quite proud of the success Taylor Made has had so far and his eyes light up when he starts discussing their current six song Nashville recording project, and especially their soon to be released single, "Good Love".

Greg Duckworth is doing it. He's able to work and provide for his family while at the same time carrying on the deep rooted musical tradition instilled from birth by his mother and now being passed along to his children. Yes, he's a family man, he's a state trooper, and he's a country music singer, all rolled up into one very busy gentleman named Greg Duckworth.
